Find your perfect T-Roc

If you avoid the pricier trims and engines, the Volkswagen T-Roc is a fine buy. We think the entry level trim and engine are the sweet spot, because not only is it refined and spacious, but it's also one of the most comfortable cars in the class.

Top-tier R-Line trim is the most expensive rung on the T-Roc ladder, so it’s hard for us to recommend. If, however, you want the sportiest T-Roc (not including the T-Roc R), R-Line trim adds sportier R-Line styling, sports seats, stiffer sports suspension, switchable driver profiles and heated front seats.

If you like the sound of the 2.0 TDI 150 engine but want some extra confidence in wet and icy weather, this version with added 4Motion four-wheel drive could be for you. It’ll cover 0-62mph ever-so slightly faster but economy suffers compared to the other versions, reducing the figure to 51mpg. It’s also expensive compared to the other engine choices, so it’s hard for us to recommend it.
