Used Peugeot 508 SW 2011-2018 reliability
Category: Estate car
Sleek styling sets the Peugeot 508 SW apart from its rivals, and its low prices and efficient engines add financial appeal
What should I look for in a used Peugeot 508 estate?
The Peugeot 508 SW is a long car and its thick windscreen pillars obstruct visibility, so check for scrapes and dents to the bumpers. Parking sensors were an option on Access and Active, while Allure spec cars and above added rear sensors as standard.
Larger alloy wheels on GT models could be susceptible to kerbing. Have a look at all the wheels for any damage, because alloy wheels can be expensive to fix.
What are the most common problems with a used Peugeot 508 estate?
Early 508 SWs were reported to have problems with water leaking into the boot. There were also issues with the electronics and the parking brake and hill-start assist systems. Make sure you check the spare wheel well for any dampness and try out every electrical gadget to make sure it works. If you are in any doubt about the parking brake, get your local Peugeot dealer to check it out.
