The model
Read full Peugeot 2008 reviewThe Peugeot 2008 has a really classy interior and is powered by punchy and efficient petrol engines. Go with the PureTech 130 in Allure trim for the best compromise on value and standard equipment. That said, the Ford Puma and Skoda Kamiq are better all-rounders, as is the Audi Q2 if you want a premium badge.
The trim
See full equipmentThis mid-spec trim level is the pick of the line-up. It gets 17in alloys, a more advanced AEB system and higher-definition graphics for its infotainment system on top of everything else the entry-level car gets.
The engine
See full engine specsThis punchy and frugal engine is the pick of the lineup, and is available with a six-speed manual gearbox or eight-speed automatic. The manual isn’t the nicest gearbox to use, but it’s still better than the automatic which can be a little jerky at low speeds. This engine is a lot stronger in terms of performance than the 1.2 Puretech 100 and still frugal in real-world driving conditions.
