Used test: Audi SQ5 vs Range Rover Evoque vs Porsche Macan verdict
The Porsche Macan is a great sports SUV, but is a used diesel S a better buy than the popular Range Rover Evoque or more powerful Audi SQ5?...
Our Verdict
The Range Rover Evoque is a luxurious bargain, but it comes with a catch – a few of them, actually. It's the slowest car here, the least comfortable and the noisiest on the road, plus reliability is a concern. The Audi SQ5 isn't looking any better in the reliability department, although its merits in performance and practicality earn it second place.
So, first, we have the Porsche Macan. It had the difficult task of justifying a significant premium over its competitors, but the Macan has done exactly that, mainly because it's the best car here to drive – refinement, ride and handling are a clear step above its rivals. It also has the classiest interior and the greatest real-world fuel economy figure. Add in the best resale values going forward and we think it's worth the extra.
