Renault announces revised Espace
* Gets more kit and lower prices * Single trim; choice of two engines * Available to order from November 8...
Renault has announced a series of revisions to its Espace MPV range. These include revised looks, more equipment and lower prices.
The most obvious changes are the headlights which now feature LED daytime running lights while there are also new black exterior trim details and TomTom sat-nav inside.
Both the Espace and Grand Espace models are available in a single trim; Dynamique TomTom. This comes with sport-style upholstery and integrated sat-nav, as well as a new gloss black interior trim.
Among the options are an opening tailgate window at 320 and a DVD-based entertainment system with screens integrated into the back of the front headrests for 1500.
Buyers of the top-of-the-range Grand Espace can also fit it with an optional Initiale Lux Pack. Costing 3500, this includes a TunePoint for portable music players, Western Europe mapping on the sat-nav, metallic paint, front parking sensors and full leather upholstery. It also has four rear seats with armrests rather than five, to give passengers more space.
At the same time, both 2.0-litre diesel engines have been revised to meet Euro V emissions legislation. That means the dCi 150 models now emit 170g/km CO2 down from 188g/km in the outgoing model while the dCi 175 models (available exclusively with a six-speed automatic gearbox) emit 189g/km of CO2.
Prices for the new model start at 24,495, with Grand Espaces costing 1500 more than the equivalent Espace. That represents savings of up to 3005 over the cars they replace.
The revised cars will be available to order from November 8, and will reach showrooms in January.
