2018: A year to remember for the Nissan LEAF

It is now one year since the latest evolution of the 100% electric Nissan LEAF went on sale, and it has continued to be a hugely popular choice for electric car buyers across Europe – including in the UK.

The LEAF topped European EV sales for the first eight months of 2018, with over 26,000 delivered to new owners – including 8,000 to corporate fleet drivers. That’s the equivalent of a new LEAF being sold every 10 minutes.

In Norway – a country that boasts one of the most EV-friendly car infrastructures in Europe – the LEAF proved to be 2018’s best-selling car outright, beating even petrol and diesel-powered models.

The latest version of the LEAF was designed to exceed the expectations of the 100,000 existing LEAF owners across Europe. Judging by its sales success and popular acclaim, it has more than delivered on that promise.

Advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility driving assistance technology – such as ProPILOT, ProPILOT Park and e-Pedal – has made driving easier, safer and more fun, while the LEAF’s 168 to 242-mile range* (WLTP Combined and City Cycle) and simple low-cost charging have helped electric drivers travel further and cut their motoring costs.

Formula E is go!

The Nissan e.dams team made a strong debut in the FIA Formula E 100% electric single-seater championship in mid-December, scoring a double points haul in the season-opener in Saudi Arabia. Drivers Sebastien Buemi and Oliver Rowland finished sixth and seventh in the race, which marked the introduction of a new, more powerful and more efficient ‘Gen 2’ Formula E car.

No fuel is good fuel
