Why Sebastien Buemi loves his Nissan LEAF
The Formula E racer is an electric driving convert, thanks to the impressive performance, advanced tech and easy recharging of Nissan's 100% electric hatchback...
When it comes to explaining the benefits of all-electric driving, few people are better placed than Formula E racing ace Sébastien Buemi. Having been involved in the all-electric single-seater series since 2014, the Nissan e.dams driver has racked up 13 wins, 29 podiums and one drivers' title – making him one of the most successful competitors on the grid.
As a result, Sébastien is now a true advocate of electric driving. “Racing in Formula E, I've been impressed by the exhilarating power delivery, acceleration and energy management that electric vehicles can provide,” he says. "As a result, I've completely embraced electric mobility off the track in my daily life."
With up to 217PS and 340Nm of torque, the 100% electric Nissan LEAF more than satisfies Sébastien's desire for an engaging driving experience on the road. "The school run and daily errands are all done in my Nissan LEAF," he says. "The instant rush of power enables me to enjoy the pleasure of electric, even when I’m not on the track."
But it’s not just the performance of the Nissan LEAF that Sébastien loves. Innovative one-pedal driving with Nissan's e-Pedal helps to make his journeys easier and more relaxing, while B-Mode delivers increased regenerative braking, recharging the battery and extending range without compromising on driving power.
"Efficiency is very important in Formula E racing, but it's also important for a normal EV driver," Sébastien says. "In the Nissan LEAF, we have the innovative e-Pedal and regenerative braking which helps you to increase your range. As a competitive driver I always love to challenge myself to go that bit further."
Sébastien also finds charging his Nissan LEAF easy and stress-free, thanks to a rapidly-growing charging infrastructure. With over 43,000 chargers in over 15,000 locations across the UK, Nissan’s Route Planner can quickly and easily help you find a charger on your journey.[1]
"In the last 10 years, the charging point infrastructure has improved enormously," Sébastien says. "Even in Switzerland, where I live, it’s really easy to find a charging point, making it a seamless experience. I don't need to worry where and when to charge."
So, there are plenty of reasons Sébastien Buemi loves his Nissan LEAF. Maybe it's time to experience it yourself.
