New Renault Megane E-Tech vs used Kia EV6 practicality
With a saving of around £14,000 off new, a year-old Kia EV6 looks like great value, but are you better off spending even less on a box-fresh Renault Megane E-Tech?...
Space and practicality
Front space, rear space, seating flexibility, boot
Up front, the Renault Megane E-Tech offers slightly more leg and head room, but you'd have to be very tall to notice. In the rear, it and the Kia EV6 are pretty much neck and neck for head room, which is to say both are a little tight for people north of six-foot. As for leg room, the EV6 has noticeably more. The EV6 is much wider, too, so it's better for sitting three people abreast.
Both cars feature 60/40 split-folding rear seats, although the EV6 adds a handy ski hatch. The EV6 has a larger overall boot capacity, especially if you take into account its added front boot (something the E-Tech doesn't have), but, at the end of the day, we managed to fit the same amount of carry-on suitcases in either boot.
Boot space
Renault Megane E-Tech
Boot capacity 440-1332 litres Suitcases 7
Kia EV6
Boot capacity 490-1300 litres (plus 52 litres front) Suitcases 7
