Read full Mazda CX-5 reviewThe Mazda CX-5 is one of the best family SUVs that you can buy. Why? Well, while it lacks the additional practicality of seven seats (which the Peugeot 5008 comes with as standard), it's well priced, very well equipped, safe and classy inside. The 2.0 petrol engine with entry-level Centre-Line trim offers the best value for money, but the diesel engine is well worth a look if you do above-average mileage.
The trim
See full equipmentOur favourite trim includes 17in alloy wheels, privacy glass, automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, electronically heated and folding wing mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, driver seat adjustable lumbar support, dual-zone climate control, a 10.25in infotainment system with DAB, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone mirroring, built-in sat-nav with five years of free map updates, and adaptive cruise control.
The engine

While it isn’t quite as fast as its rivals, the 163bhp means that there’s ample performance on offer and you’ll never struggle to reach motorway speeds or to overtake slow-moving traffic. It’s fairly efficient, so you won’t spend too much time at the pumps.
