The model
Read full Honda HR-V reviewThe Honda HR-V is an efficient and well equipped small SUV with a smartly styled and nicely finished interior. However, this is a highly competitive class, and for the same money there are plenty of rivals that are better to drive and more practical. If you do get an HR-V, we recommend going for mid-spec Advance trim.
The trim
See full equipmentElegance is the cheapest HR-V trim, but it still comes with front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, heated front seats and keyless entry. Meanwhile, standard safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control.
The engine
See full engine specsAll HR-Vs combine a 1.5-litre petrol engine with two electric motors for a total of 129bhp. This makes for good fuel economy (expect to see high-40s) and a very quiet car in stop-start traffic. However, when you accelerate the petrol engine immediately starts revving very noisily, almost as though you’re stuck in first gear.
