There are no nasty surprises with the Citroën C4 X - it's very much like the C4 hatchback but with a larger boot. That means it shares the lovely interior quality and generally comfortable ride, while proving good value too, offering a lot more interior space than a similarly priced VW Polo.
This is the entry-level trim but it’s still very recommendable and comes with loads of standard equipment. Highlights include rear parking sensors, 18in alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic air-con and a 10in touchscreen infotainment system.
This is the entry-level engine and it’s only available with a six-speed manual gearbox. It produces 99bhp and gives a 0-62mph time of 11.6 seconds. Top speed is 114mph.
