Used BMW iX3 2021-present reliability
Category: Electric SUV
From its driving experience to its interior quality, the BMW iX3 is a class act and a good used buy.
What should I look for in a used BMW iX3 4x4?
Currently, the BMW iX3 doesn't have any major pitfalls to its name. Most examples are in excellent condition, although it's still best double checking the usual bits, such as the wheels for kerbing and the interior for any wear and tear.
Euro NCAP tested the X3 for safety in 2017, awarding it five stars out of five, a rating that also covers the iX3 after it was validated in 2021. That makes it hard to compare the iX3’s score with the five-star scores that the E-Tron and I-Pace achieved in 2019 and 2018 respectively, as the tests get more stringent each year.
Even so, it should keep you safe in an accident, as every iX3 comes with plenty of safety tech, including automatic emergency braking (AEB), lane-keeping assist, active side-collision protection and automatic speed-limit assist.
What are the most common problems with a used BMW iX3 4x4?
As of writing, the iX3 has been subjected to two recalls. One, which is a potential electrical issue, only involves 28 cars, though. The other involves 384 examples and consists of a software issue.
With either of these recalls, contact your local BMW dealer if you believe your vehicle to be involved.
