Just do the usual checks, such as taking it for a test drive and looking out for any strange noises or feelings (that suggests a mechanical fault), checking the exterior for dings and scrapes and the interior for signs of excessive wear and tear. Have a play with the infotainment system and various items of switchgear to make sure they're in working order, too.
BMW gives the Gran Coupé plenty of standard safety equipment, including automatic emergency braking (AEB) and lane-departure assist. The optional-from-new Driving Assistant Professional pack (which comes as part of the Technology Plus Pack) adds adaptive cruise control, a more advanced lane-keeping assistant, a front cross-traffic alert system and an automatic speed limit assist.
