Used test: Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet vs Range Rover Evoque Convertible
Fancy soaking up some winter sun? We're pitching a used Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet against Range Rover's unusual Evoque Convertible. Read on to find out which you should choose...
What will they cost?
The Range Rover Evoque Convertible cost nearly £6000 more to buy outright than the Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet when new, but at this two-year-old stage there’s a difference of around £5000 for a good condition, full-service history car.
The C-Class Cabriolet should cost less to run, too. It’s much more economical, according to the old NEDC official fuel tests, and that means the Merc will cost less every year in tax. It’s also cheaper to insure.
As you’d expect given their lofty price tags, both cars come with plenty of standard equipment. This includes climate control, heated electric front seats, a reversing camera, a DAB radio, sat-nav, adjustable ambient interior lighting and paddle shifters for the automatic gearbox. To this, the Range Rover Evoque Convertible adds leather seats, a premium Meridian audio system and four-wheel drive. The Mercedes C-Class Cabriolet fights back with LED headlights and an Airscarf that blows warm air around your neck; perfect for sunny winter days.
