Nissan's new city car
* Called Nissan Pixo * Revised Nissan Note to be unveiled * Electric Nissan Nuvu also on display...
The Pixo, Nissan's new city car, will go on sale in 2009.
Based on the Suzuki Alto, it will be revealed at next month's Paris motor show.
The Pixo will be a five-door hatch and will be powered by a 1.0-litre engine. No other details have been released, but Nissan says it will be lightweight to ensure low running costs and an enjoyable drive.
Nissan will also unveil a face-lifted Note in Paris, featuring a revised front end and a new central instrument panel for clearer use of the cars controls.
Other significant changes include improved suspension to aid ride comfort, and revised gear ratios on the 1.4-litre powered version of the car, to lower emissions.
Nissan Nuvu
Nissan will also unveil an electric 2+1 concept car at the Paris show next month.
Named the Nuvu, the concept is just three metres long and has a roof covered in leaf-shaped solar panels that power the electric motor.
The Nuvu has two main seats and one occasional seat, leaving room for a luggage area that Nissan claim will provide sufficient space for a typical supermarket or shopping expedition.
Although the car is strictly a concept, it's thought that technology such as the use of solar panels to recharge the batteries could be incorporated into Nissan's EV electric car, which is set to go on sale in 2010.
