New Toyota GR Supra vs Alpine A110
Alpine recreated the A110 and immediately topped the sports car class. Has Toyota repeated the trick with its all-new Supra?...
Our verdict
The Toyota Supra is a better sports car than its BMW cousin. It may not have the ultra-soft ride of the Z4, but it’s still calm enough on motorways and – much more importantly – sharper and better fun to drive. It’s mightily quick in a straight line, too. So if you want a proper sports car with lots of toys and a modicum of practicality, it’ll see you right.
However, it’s up against a car that’s now confirmed as something rather special. If you don’t care a jot about practicality or how good the infotainment is but simply want the most engaging thing for £50k, look no further. For those who love driving, the Alpine A110 makes every blat utterly joyous.
