New Audi Q4 e-tron vs new Mercedes EQA: verdict

As the battle to be your next electric SUV gets fiercer by the day, the Q4 e-tron and EQA join the charge – but which is the better car? We pick a winner...

Audi Q4 e-tron vs Mercedes EQA rear static

Our verdict

The EQA isn’t without its strengths. It’s the cheaper car, for starters, and comes with a bit more standard equipment. It’s also suitably upmarket inside and offers a good (though not remarkable) range between charges. If you like the way it looks and don’t need a big boot, it’s a decent buy.

The Q4 e-tron is better, though. It’s better to drive, quieter on the move and far more practical, especially when it comes to boot space. To top it all off, it has a usefully longer range and can charge up faster. It’s worth the extra outlay, although if you can live without a posh badge, you might want to consider the closely related and much cheaper Skoda Enyaq.
