Driving Assistant package (£1495)

With this upgrade, your A-Class can control its own acceleration, braking and steering and even change lanes in certain situations, such as on the motorway. It's only available in conjunction with the seven-speed automatic gearbox, but that's no problem, because it's a smoother choice than the standard six-speed manual.

Advanced smartphone package (£395)

These days, everyone wants to charge and use their phones in the car, and this upgrade lets you do just that while staying safe. There’s a wireless charging mat to keep everyone topped up, as well as full support for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Advanced navigation package (£495)

Mercedes’ MBUX infotainment system is marvellous to look at, and this upgrade makes the most of it by adding augmented-reality sat-nav. What does that mean? Well, a live image from the forward-facing camera is displayed on the central screen and directions are superimposed on top of that, making finding your way to a destination even easier. Traffic sign recognition is also included.
