Frankfurt 2009: Dodge Caliber
* New diesel engine * Improved interior * More storage space...
What's new?
The main news at the Dodge stand is the Caliber with a new 2.2-litre 160bhp common rail diesel engine.
The new engine is cleaner and more economical than the unit it replaces, but it's more powerful too.
That means CO2 emissions drop from 159g/km to 154g/km and one company car tax band while fuel economy improves from 46.0mpg to 49.0mpg. Power is up 16% to 161bhp.
Anything else?
As well as a new engine, the interior has been freshened up with chrome detailing and soft-touch materials. There's a new instrument panel and additional storage space.
Unfortunately, there's no word yet on when the car will be on sale in the UK and how much it will cost.
