Every brand's most fuel-efficient car, and how cheaply you can buy them
As petrol prices hit £100 a tank, we name the most fuel-efficient model offered by every brand, from Abarth to Volvo, and look at how much we can currently save you on them...
The average cost of filling up a family car has just reached £100.27 for petrols and £103.43 for diesels, according to the RAC.
This is based on a typical 55-litre tank, and comes amid concerns that petrol retailers are not passing on the recent cut in fuel duty to consumers.
Sadly, prices don't look like they're going to fall back dramatically any time soon. So, if you're thinking of changing your car and are looking for one that's capable of mega miles per gallon, what should you choose?
Well, here we're looking at every brand's most efficient petrol, diesel or hybrid car. Each of them has been measured by its official average fuel economy figure, and where available, we'll also reveal our real-world True MPG data.
