Porsche Cayenne Coupé GTS
Even compared with super-SUVs such as the far pricier Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX, the Cayenne Coupé GTS still stacks up as the best bet for the fortunate buyer. For a start, it isn’t insanely fast. As odd as that sounds, it means you can savour the 4.0-litre V8’s snarl a little longer before you hit the speed limit. Besides, 4.5sec for 0-62mph is hardly slow.
It’s also more than enough to make the most of an astonishingly capable chassis. Tick the boxes for adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering and you’ll marvel at how agile the GTS feels as you guide it through corners using the precise, perfectly weighted steering, while body lean is incredibly well contained. It’ll even happily play the hooligan if you enjoy buying tyres.
Yet once you’ve finished hooning around, the GTS is remarkably comfortable for something so talented in the twisties. Indeed, you’ll be enjoying yourself in circumstances in which a BMW X5 M would be harsh and bouncy, and you’ll be able to cruise in comfort the rest of the time, cocooned in a luxurious, roomy interior.
