Audi Q2 vs DS 4 Crossback vs Seat Ateca
Small SUVs are flavour of the month, especially when premium quality is added to the mix. So which is the tastiest – Audi’s new Q2, the DS 4 Crossback or Seat's Ateca?...
A 7.0in colour screen comes as standard, which is controlled using Audi’s clear, logical MMI menu system via a rotary dial between the front seats. A DAB radio, a USB socket, Bluetooth, sat-nav and a multi-function steering wheel are all standard, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration are thrown in too, enabling you to use your smartphone via the screen.
DS 4 Crossback
The Crossback also sports a 7.0in colour screen, but unlike the Audi’s, it’s touch sensitive. It doesn’t have such high resolution, it doesn’t react as quickly to inputs and it has confusing on-screen menus, though, which all make it more difficult to use on the move. At least a DAB radio, Bluetooth, a USB socket, sat-nav and steering wheel-mounted stereo controls are standard, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Seat Ateca
At 8.0in, the Ateca’s colour touchscreen is the biggest here. It’s far more pleasing to look at and more responsive to touch than the DS 4’s, but we prefer the Q2’s slicker menus and greater ease of use while driving. A DAB radio, Bluetooth, USB, sat-nav and steering wheel-mounted stereo controls are standard. It costs £915 to upgrade to a more advanced Seat sound system and add a second USB socket and a 10GB hard drive.
